The team

Renate Dehaan

Renate is the Executive Housing Officer and manages the day to day operation of the Association. Over nine years she has been the public face of BHA, tirelessly promoting the issues of homelessness and the need for affordable accommodation in the South West. She has overseen the growth of the organisation's housing stock from it's inception to over forty five houses and a single men's boarding house. Renate currently serves on the Bunbury Community Legal Centre management committee.
She holds a Bachelor Of Arts majoring in Community Studies with a post graduate qualification in Counselling. She also has an extensive back ground in youth work.
Her interests include yoga, meditation and the care of her two dogs.
Sam Maitland

Sam is the administration and financial manager of the organisation. This involves the collection of tenants' rent and financial reporting to the management board. She also adminsters the Lotteries House complex which accomodates nine Bunbury community organisations.
Sam serves on the management committees for the South West Emergency Care for Children and the Lotteries House complex. She is a keen weekend sailor.

Clare Hesford

Clare has been working for BHA since March 2004 is currently the property manager for the organisation. She developed a very good understanding of the BHA accounting systems from her experience as the accounts payable officer and paymaster. She has also managed the housing waiting list and been responsible for managing the tenants' water consumption accounts.
Paul Connell

Paul is employed on a partime basis to look after "special projects" for the organisation. He brings with him a wide range of experience in various forms of management and community service from his time working in the Australian Government (CES and Centrelink) and in the Victorian Government (Environment Protection Authority). He also is a member of the management committees of Advocacy South West and the Bunbury Multicultural Group and has participated in refugee settlement groups.
Paul has an interest in computers and information technology.
Jimmy White

Jimmy is the resident caretaker of the Yanget Guest House. He has a long employment history in the human services industry having worked as a Youth worker for a number of years. He has the skills required to manage a residence that provides accommodation for Bunbury's homeless single men. Jim is a self confessed Ebay addict, and practically supports the local postal service single handedly.
