Yanget Guest House closed in February 2010 so that it can be redeveloped to better meet the accommodation demands of the homeless. Demolition will commence in March 2010 and new premises will be built to double its current capacity to house homeless single people as well as provide office space for local Community Organisations. Construction will be co-ordinated by the Department of Housing and the new premises are anticipated to open in July 2011. A tender for the management of the new premises will be called in early to mid 2011.
All Yanget residents were successfully rehoused at BHA, Access Housing and privately owned premises.
